Marco Susani :: Industrial Design Lecture Series

Marco Susani is a founding partner of design studio Koz Susani Design, based in Chicago. His main interest is in combining technology innovation with emotional design, and to use his design vision to drive toward a more human future. He has developed design projects for Allstate, Apple, 3M, Fontana Arte, Mitsubishi, Motorola, Nestlé, Nissan, Panasonic, Philips, Pirelli, Seiko, Unilever, Xerox, and others. His original combination of consulting and corporate experience gives him a valuable insight on how to best do design in both contexts.

Susani received a Bachelors Degree in Architecture Politecnico di Milano and Masters Degree in Industrial and Product Design From Domus Academy. He began his career in Milan with Ettore Sottsass and later served as Director of Domus Academy Research Center where he extended the culture of Italian Design to innovation fields like hi-tech Product Design, Interaction Design, and Strategic Design. Susani moved to the US to create the Motorola Advanced Concept Group. At Motorola he led numerous culture-change initiatives to establish the practice of experience design, to promote design thinking as a way to steer strategic decisions, and to use advanced concepts to drive corporate vision.
