Ted Burdett :: Industrial Design Lecture Series

Ted Burdett is a partner of Chicago-basd Strand Design a studio creating beautifully crafted objects from sustainably sourced and manufactured materials. Committed to quality, functionality, and making things that bring people joy, Burdett works on client commissions as well as self-intiated projects that involve both artisanal and industrial modes of making.

Driven by an insatiable curiosity around materials and process, Burdett views design as a method for interdisciplinary problem solving. He shares his knowledge and enthusiasm for design as an active member of the UIC School of Design faculty. He recieved his BFA in Industrial Design from UIC in 2004 and is currently completing an MBA in Enrepreneurship and Management in the UIC Liautaud Graduate School of Business.
