Spring Lecture Series: Martin Thaler

 

Martin Thaler is a Studio Professor at the Institute of Design (ID), Illinois Institute of Technology. He holds an MFA from the Royal College of Art, London, and a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. Prior to teaching at ID, Martin led multidisciplinary teams at IDEO, Chicago office for 12 years. He worked with companies in the consumer electronics, medical, and furniture industries, such as Motorola, Lilly, Baxter, and Steelcase. In 1985, Martin co-founded the award-winning consulting firm Design Logic in Chicago. His clients included Bang & Olufsen and View-Master. Martin’s work has been exhibited and published in books and periodicals such as ID, Blueprint, Casa Vogue, and Time. Recently, Martin Thaler and UIC faculty Sung Jang started Article, a Chicago-based company that has worked on projects for clients such Artemide, North America.
