UIC Design at ICFF 2018

The UIC School of Design is participating for the third consecutive year in the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) during NYCxDESIGN week in New York, May 20 to 23, 2018.

This year's exhibit features the results of third year undergraduate studio courses in graphic design and industrial design curated around a theme of Material/Immaterial. The selected works exemplify how design process and methods of making engage with physical materials as well as immaterial elements of design. Selected works embrace the unique qualities of a given material and are inspired by what can be achieved by immaterial effects such as light, sound, or feel.

A UIC faculty committee including Ted Burdett, Sung Jang, and TJ O'Keefe  solicited and curated the student work. Students selected to exhibit their works are participating in the design and construction of the exhibition at Javits Center in New York City.
