Felicia Ferrone re-imagines classic wine bottle for Food & Wine magazine

Felicia Ferrone, Instructor UIC Industrial Design, was invited by Food & Wine magazine to re-imagine the classic wine bottle. Every aspect of the standard wine bottle was scrutinized, leading to great opportunities to challenge the archetype.

This new design focuses on the neck of the bottle, both in placement and how it concludes at the aperture. The most radical modification was in the de-centralized neck of the bottle, emphasizing its use as a spout. The dynamic form of the bottle is ever changing depending on the viewing angle. This innovative form also allows the bottles to stack more efficiently, reducing the volume by half, thus cutting down on carbon footprint in shipping and reducing storage needs.
