Amir Berbić presents at the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba

Associate Professor Amir Berbić held a public presentation at the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Unión Nacional de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba, UNEAC), in Havana. He discussed his work in 3D typography and research on graphic design in the service of place identity.

Organized by UNEAC’s Design Chapter, the event held on May 26 also featured presentations by several prominent Cuban graphic designers including Hector Villaverde, Olivio Martinez, Fabián Muñoz, Arnulfo Espinosa, and Jorge Martell.

The aim of the program was to facilitate an exchange of ideas and experiences of Cuban designers with international counterparts, according to Jorge Martell, the President of the UNEAC’s Design Chapter.

Founded in 1961, Unión Nacional de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba is a social, cultural and professional organization that supports activities across artistic and literary fields—from poetry and literature, to theatre, music, studio art, and design.
