Spring Lecture Series: Martin Kastner

 

Czech-born designer, Martin Kastner trained as a blacksmith and worked in metalworks restoration before moving on to design and sculpture. Upon arrival to the US in 1998, he founded Crucial Detail, a studio that specializes in design for fine dining. He is best known for Alinea serviceware concepts, landing him on The Future Laboratory’s list of 100 most influential contemporary designers. His accolades also include the 2014 IHHA Global Innovation Award for Product Design.
