Julka Almquist :: Design Research Lecture Series


Julka Almquist is researcher, designer, and trend/futures analyst who holds a an interdisciplinary PhD at the intersection of design and anthropology. Almquist has recently worked as a researcher for IDEO, a leading international design and innovation consulting firm. She is currently teaching an undergraduate Speculative Futures course at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and serving as a curatorial programming resident at Mana Contemporary.

Almquist received a PhD from the University of California, Irvine, a Masters in Art in Applied Anthropology from Tulane University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Sarah Lawrence College.
