School of Design faculty, students, and alumni exhibit at Typeforce
Director Anne H. Berry, Professor Sharon Oiga, Visiting Associate Professor Lisa Armstrong's digital media class, and Design alumni Astha Thakkar and Guy Villa, Jr. were selected to exhibit their typographic work at this year's Typeforce.
Typeforce is a showcase of type-based art based in Chicago, centered around community and a love of type. The exhibition, housed at Co-Prosperity, will run through February 15. Many congratulations to all exhibitioners!

Deconstruction for Reconstruction, part of 2125 Matriarchal Design Futures, by Sharon Oiga and Guy Villa, Jr. Deconstruction for Reconstruction reflects upon the sociopolitical ideology and practice of taking things down and reconstituting select parts, which had a significant role in leading to the prosperous, inclusive time of this first quarter of the 22nd century.
Shared: Womanist Design Principles, part of 2125 Matriarchal Design Futures, by Anne H. Berry. Shared: Womanist Design Principles imagines a future where conversations about Black women are framed within the context of collective joy, exuberance, celebration.
Alphabet Loops, by Lisa Armstrong’s digital media class. Alphabet Loops is a collaborative project that explores processes, materials, and sequencing. Each individual was assigned 2 letters to create short typographically-driven animations for. Participating students: Ami Arcos, Daniel Castillejo, Frankie Salud, Issa Dizon, Jiaqi Wu, Leanna Ho, Lisa Armstrong, Man Binh Diep, MK Ko, Pearl Lomax, Phoebe Milles, Rasheed Hudson, William Hug.
Typographic Snowflakes, by Astha Thakkar and the students of Savannah College of Art and Design. Each student was tasked to design a unique snowflake using the letters of their first and last name.
