The work of Felicia Ferrone, Clinical Assistant Professor of UIC Industrial Design, explores the architecture of objects employing simple gesture and whimsy. Her highly-resolved pieces are are produced in small batch editions by thw world's top artisans. The work of Christopher Genter is rooted in the language of sculpture and character defining detail at the crossroads of art and design.
Both designers have shown in curated exhibitions including Americans in Paris at The Mona Bismarck Centre, Paris 2014, America Made Me at the London Design Week 2012, The Art Institute of Chicago's Permanent Collection of Architecture and Design, and were prominently featured in CHGO DSGN in 2014 at the Chicago Cultural Center. Their work has also garnered awards for Best Collection at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair 2014 in New York, NY NOW Gift Show 2014, and NY NOW Gift Show 2015.
Pavilion provides a platform for designers, artists, architects to explore ideas through exhibitions intended to enrich and broaden the definitions of art, architecture, and design.
