BDes Student Nicholas Savidge is named IDSA Midwest Student Merit Winner

The 2016 IDSA Midwest District Conference concludes today with the the Student Merit Awards presentations. Nicholas Savidge, candidate for the 2016 Bachelor of Design in Industrial Design was named the top awardee. Nick advanced to this final regional round of the IDSA Student Merit Awards as the top nominee from the UIC School of Design. Nick will be honored again at the 2016 IDSA International Conference: Making Things Happen, to be held in Detroit, August 17-20, 2016.

This is the third consecutive year that a UIC Design student was selected for this prestigious award—evidence that our status as an independent School of Design, and the related curricular advancements, are making a national impact on industrial design education.

The 2015 winner was Rotimi Solola, now a designer at Motorola. The 2014 winner was Jillian Tackaberry, now a designer with MNML.

Congratulations Nick!
