TJ O'Keefe Architizer A+ Award Finalist
TJ O’Keefe, Clinical Assistant Professor of Industrial Design, is a finalist in the Architizer A+ Award 2021 for “Pavilion” in the Decorative & Free Standing Lighting category.
Pavilions I & II explore the meta, by being both furniture and architecture; space within space; structures within structures. Like a diorama or a dollhouse, Pavilions demonstrate the phenomenon of our human ability to change scale and conceptually experience space simply with our eyes. They are vessels designed to hold light. These slab marble objects can be utilized as a seat or table, or simply as spaces for the mind to occupy.
Architizer A+Awards is the largest awards program focused on promoting and celebrating the year’s best architecture and products. Its mission is to nurture the appreciation of meaningful architecture in the world and champion those products that are integral to bringing great buildings to life. Imagine your work in front of a global audience of 400+ million.
