Andrew Russell is a mixed methods design researcher currently teaching Design Research and Human Factors. His research is centered around increasing the rigor present when conducting design research, seeing it as a means to increase the validity of research and adoption of the outcomes. Since earning his BDes in 2015, he has been an innovation consultant and researcher, working with numerous Fortune 500 companies and government agencies to bring awareness and attentiveness to the oft-overlooked needs of the people who use and rely on the products and services the companies provide. Andrew continues to work as a design research consultant outside his work at UIC.
