Linda Bracamontes’ professional research includes print and digital design. Before joining UIC in 2000 she was a senior designer for Morningstar, developing and implementing new corporate product identities, and a senior designer at Day Interactive Switzerland, focusing on interactive and digital design. She was the editor of the AIGA design education journal, Inform, and chaired three AIGA design education conferences: Future History 2002, 2004, and 2009. 

In 2005, Linda won the UIC Silver Circle Award for Teaching Excellence, decided by graduating students. She guides graduate students in a summer studio in Basel, Switzerland. In addition to her role at UIC, she leads design workshops, has lectured in Mexico, and operates a practice, Roeger Design, with her partner in Chicago.

Her design work has received recognition from AIGA, the Art Directors Club New York, and Print Magazine. The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum in Geneva, Switzerland, displayed her interactive work. She has received multiple project grants from Adobe, the Graham Foundation, and MeadWestvaco.
