A faculty member since 2004, Oliver Roeger began his career as head of the design department at HyperStudio, a Swiss interactive agency, where he developed numerous award-winning CD-ROM projects for clients including Swissair, Interpharma, and Cercl’Air.
Born in Germany, Oliver moved to the US in 2001. That same year, he joined Rick Valicenti’s design studio Thirst, leading the interactive design department for five years. There he focused strongly on web design and development, creating websites and motion graphics for clients including Gilbert Paper, Holly Hunt, Krueck Sexton Partners, Smithfield Properties, and the ArchiCenter Chicago.
Since 2006, his design practice Roeger Design has worked on projects ranging from web design and development and motion graphics to exhibition design and print. His growing client list includes Driehaus Museum, Lightswitch, Davis & Davis Interior Design, Frank Ponterio Interior Design, Vladimir Radutny Architects, MGLM Architects, Sheehan Partners Architecture, Skypan International, Studio Blue, Eric Ceputis Design, Promark Brands, Sponge Brands, Elisian Hotels Chicago, Ritz Carlton, LKH&S, McKinsey & Company, Jo Communications, CG Jung Institute of Chicago, Chicago Public Art Group, and Lion Spirits.
Oliver’s work has been honored at the EUROPRIX Multimedia Awards, and at MILIA, an international Festival for interactive media. A recipient of the NewMedia Invision Award for social community projects, he has led workshops and given presentations across Europe, and previously taught interactive design at HyperWerk in Basel, Switzerland.
