A designer and artist, Sung Jang’s work explores the interplay between the two disciplines, resulting in creations that blur boundaries and fits seamlessly into both. Working as an industrial designer, he strives to identify and solve design problems that improve quality of life; as an artist, his work is a unique expression of vision, perspective, and ideas.

Sung has designed for clients including Louis Vuitton, Artemide, Samsung, McDonald’s, and Roche Bobois. His work has been exhibited in and recognized by the Art Institute of Chicago, Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Chamber and Armory Show in New York and Design Miami, and has received a number of awards, including GOOD DESIGN Awards and the Nuremberg Toy Awards.

In addition to his roles at UIC, Sung co-founded Article, a Chicago-based industrial design studio. He currently produces work through his independent design studio Sung Jang.
