Kenyetta (KiWii) McLaurin, UIC ID student is featured on Vogue.com

Kenyetta McLaurin, a second year undergraduate pursuing a UIC Bachelor of Design in Industrial Design, was one of three Black students commissioned by Cold Picnic to design a blanket to be sold on their retail site. This program launched a reopening of the site which had stopped operations to encourage visitors to make donations to organizations in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

The story is featured in a Vogue.com article by Carment Rosy Hall.
Pictured is her blanket design, Moon Shine In, available for preorder at coldpicnic.com.

Known by her friends and classmates as KiWii, McLaurin was born in North Carolina and lived in San Francisco where she worked in the film community before moving to Chicago. She is also a 2020 recpient of the UIC Osmosis Charles Harrison Scholarship, which supports UIC Design students of color.

Congratulations KiWii!
