DES140 DESIGN DRAWING provides an introduction to the fundamentals of drawing in the context of design studies. The ability to rapidly visualize ideas is a core and valued competency in design practice. Students build familiarity with basic manual drawing tools and practice techniques for different styles of drawing. Students learn to draw in one, two, and three-point perspective for visualizing objects and environments. Exercises additionally introduce the application of light and shadow.
This studio course is required for students in the School of Design, First-Year Program. Space permitting, it is open as an elective to undergraduate students in the College of Architecture, Design, and the Arts.
